Challenge

A national supplier of fresh baked goods was seeking to fuel profitable growth by leveraging technology to enhance consumer engagement while streamlining its operations.

"How will we accelerate profitable growth

with a digital enterprise strategy?"

 

Based on the company 5-year strategic plan, we designed a series of co-design sessions with the Executive Council session which shaped a digital enterprise strategy.  The focus was enhanced  differentiation and engagement with distributors, retail customers and end consumers.  Included were a vision and roadmap to enable two strategic imperatives:

  • Creating demand and brand loyalty by shaping the customer (retailer) and end consumer experiences based on data-driven investments - better integrating, curating, analyzing, and acting on data-fueled market insights.

  • Enhancing business agility and profitability through a supply chain shift with streamlined processes and automation with investment based on advanced analytics.

Challenge

A leading global bank, embarking on their digital transformation journey, was looking to build a stronger, more collaborative cohort across their top-ten partner ecosystem to support the desired business shift.

Engagement

Big Question:

"By working better together, how we can accelerate 

our business strategy and expected outcomes?"

 

Interviews with senior executives at the bank revealed the magnitude of the complexity challenge to shift how they deliver services in concert with 10 strategic suppliers. We shaped the challenge into three focal areas to be jointly tackled with the 10 partners:

  • Idea to Production in a Day - foster DevSecOps powered innovation.

  • Client & Partner Integration - end-to-end service flow.

  • Future Digital Capabilities  - right-skilling of the human capital.

We formed multi-partner workgroups to tackle each focus areas and advance of a workshop, sharing their findings and recommendations for business improvement.

 

We facilitated a 2-day integrated planning session with the bank leadership and 20 partner participants to review/refine  the workstreams and develop a roadmap of actions & owners to garner the needed board-level support for the transformation.

To remain competitive, our research indicated the need for significant improvement of the enterprises capability and maturity (CMMI) in these key areas:

  • Operational Excellence -  streamline processes and design for resilience

  • Cloud - establish ability to leverage multiple clouds with app portability

  • Engagement Model - build closer partnership between IT and LOB leaders

  • Automation at Scale - look E2E for low value repetitive tasks with insight from predictive analytics

  • Agile and Dev/Ops - accelerate time to value through agile approach to innovation Dev/Ops for rapid innovation

We designed and led a planning session with business and technology leaders to build a vision and technology roadmap for each of key change areas with a return-on-investment plan to take to the board.​
