Shift the Role of Technology
CLIENT STORY__________________________________________
Challenge
A leading defense manufacturer was challenged to accelerate the development and production of large-scale ships and improve quality to meet the government’s growth demands. They looked to modernize and integrate Information and Operational Technology (IT & OT) and expand the workforce capacity and skillset which constrained their ability to deliver on the mission.
Engagement
Big Question:

"What is needed to enable
our technology modernization strategy?"

Our homework on the operating model indicated significant risks and improvement opportunities:
-
Updating and linking IT/OT systems.
-
Streamlining and documenting policies, processes and procedures.
-
Enabling the surge of new employees.
-
Compliance with government security requirements throughout the change ahead.
Our co-design sessions with the executive team mapped out the high-level shift plan to a new IT/OT enterprise architecture and operating model optimized the overall process, from sheet metal to finished boat. BU level plans for submarines and destroyers were created, and then synthesized into an enterprise plan to capture synergies.
Critical success factors included building the systematic ability to identify and address skillset and cultural gaps through creation of a ‘Skills for the Future’ university and ‘Management of Culture’ program.
Client View
“Great facilitation process for drawing out strategic thinking in a compressed timeframe. The visual representation of the information makes it much more memorable and impactful.”
-CIO
“I came in very skeptical, but now see the genius in your approach. I am amazed at what we accomplished!”

Launch Strategic Program for Impact
CLIENT STORY__________________________________________
Challenge
A major insurance firm was looking for a unique way to launch a strategic program that would build interest toward participation and cultivate advocacy. The new platform would enable employees to find growth opportunities and leaders to find the talent needed to meet their business goals.
Our Approach
Big Question:

"How can we make our platform launch
successful for both employees and people leaders?"

Based on our interviews with key leaders and research of company strategy and existing program content, we created a story for the new platform launch, in clear alignment and support of the broader company strategy. It highlighted the benefits to both employees and leaders in the form of a shared exploration of continuous career growth and satisfaction in the form of a hiking adventure with the new platform as the base camp.
We leveraged our initial narrative and visuals in creation of additional artifacts including an all-hands launch video, landing page storyboards, and informational videos that played on monitors throughout the company facilities.
Client View
“This storyboard and visual artifacts have been so well received by both our employees and people leaders. It piqued their interest and made them want to engage in the program. Thanks for the creativity and enthusiasm!”
